Restore.tv Season 1 – Episode 14: “My grandmother I never knew”

Remember me in the family tree
My name, my days, my strife;
Then I’ll ride on the wings of time
And live an endless life.

Geneal Fitzgerald came to Restore.tv with a severely water damaged photo of her grandmother, Anna Marie Anderson Modeen, who was born in 1875 in Sweden. Geneal has done some great research on her family and was pleased to discover that as children both her grandmother Anna and the man she would later marry, Axel Modeen, came over to the United States on the same ship! After Anna and Axel married in 1904 they settled in Gunnison, Utah and raised two boys. Geneal recalls that her grandmother loved growing flowers for the public and would travel to Provo to deliver them for weddings and funerals. Although Anna passed away before Geneal was able to know her, we can tell that there was a special bond between these two wonderful women. We had a wonderful time cleaning & restoring such a beautiful photo for Geneal and her family to treasure!
